Show Off!
Here is the cutie pie showing off his new skill! We kept having to cheer for him everytime he did it! He really thought he was "doing something" (well, because he was!). Check out how super cute he is...

Skillz
He can sit up by himself! He did it last night. He was playing around on the floor while Daddy and I ate supper and he was up in the crawl position and the next thing we knew, he was sitting on his rump! He clapped and cheered and he thought he was "the stuff" then! He would get kind of halfway back down in the crawl position and then sit back up again and hold his hands over his head in the "I am the champion" pose and we would cheer and he would grin so big. We did this over and over and over. It was very cute. He was just so proud of himself. The part that wasn't so cute was when he was practicing it in his crib at 1:00 this morning. That really wasn't cute at all!
Last weekend we took a trip to Stone Mountain. Stone Mountain is a big huge mountain made of stone (hence the name). It is a natural granite rock formation in NE Georgia and there is a nice park there with lots of fun things to do. Here is a picture of the mountain:
Gabe was such a good boy all day. We started out at 11:00 am and didn't finish the day until nearly 11:00 pm and not the first wimper or whine from Baby Gabe. He loves to be in his stroller because he loves to people watch. He takes it all in!
Here are some pictures of him on top of the mountain. You can walk up the mountain or ride a tram car to the top. We rode the car!
Here we are on the train. The train goes all the way around the bottom of the mountian and there is some narration and a little show that you stop to watch.
And here's what Gabe thought about it all...
That evening we rode the river boat. Gabe had to wear a life jacket in case he decided to jump in.
All in all it was a great day and a great trip. We got to enjoy it with Grammy and Pop and Mr Jimmy and Mrs Betty. We did a lot of walking and hopefully didn't wear all of them out but we sure enjoyed our trip!
(Sorry for the little pictures. I am trying out a new photo hosting site cause Photobucket is being so weird and slow lately. Anyway, you can click on them to make them bigger.)

One little fish, swimming in the water
Tuesday we started Mommy and Me swim classes! Gabe was SUCH a good boy during his class (and even afterward when me and Daddy stopped off at Zaxby's for some supper). I was nervous that he might be a little irritated because sometimes he is very tired at that time of day, but he wasn't. He LOVED the water and had a great time being in it and looking at all of the other children. I am so relieved that it seems like he is going to be a little fish as Daddy and I really love water activites. This summer we have a pool memebership and are so excited to able to take Gabe and get him even more accustomed to it. And then there is our trip to the beach at the end of May! There is a lot to look forward to this summer!
In the video at the top we are working on our first "skill" which was teaching the babies to get into the pool when mommy (or Daddy) says, "it's ok to get in the pool now". And then the same thing when it is time to get out. This is a good skill to have because once he is able to walk, I certainly don't think we want him just jumping in on his own accord!! We were using a little rubber ducky to get his attention and to help with the skill. Here are some additional pictures...
