Picture Time!

Just thought I'd share of few of Gabe's latest and greatest! Enjoy...

The first time Gabe had spaghetti, this is what happened...

A couple of Sundays ago, we stuck Gabe in his saucer so we could finish getting ready for church. And this happened...

Gabe is pulling up on everything and standing briefly on his own now. Here he is checking out the back deck...

Yesterday I noticed that Gabe had some pretty bad diaper rash so we let him have some "neckid" time. He is actually sitting in the kitchen in this shot but I thought it was a lot sweeter without the fridge and case of Coke in the background!

Shortly after I took that, he managed to pee all over his silkie! Good thing there are two!!!

And Daddy is probably going to give me fits for posting this one, but how can I resist?!? Is that not the cutest little bum you ever did see????

Busy, Busy, Busy!

NO! I haven't forgotten about you avid Land of Gabe readers!! I promise! But things are super busy at our house since that little feller has learned to crawl and pull up and GET INTO STUFF!! I really need to take a video of him crawling. It's the cutest thing ever with his little rump twisting along. He reminds me of a little plastic wind up baby doll thingy that I had when I was little. You wound it up and put it on the ground and it's little butt twisted to and fro as it crawled along the floor. Sometimes tough, I find myself looking for Gabe's winding mechanism, wondering how to disable it! If just for a few minutes anyway!! ;-)

We've had some sickness at our house but knock on wood, it has just been me and not Gabe or Daddy. I think I had "the flu" or something very similar to it at the end of last week, along with a short lived (thank God) stomach bug at the beginning of the week. It's always strange to be snortin' and snottin and coughing in the middle of the summer, but that is exactly what was (and still is minus the fever) going on with me. But let's just pray that Gabe stays free and clear of all of it. I hate it when that baby gets sick! Especially since Grammy is in ALASKA and can't take care of him so I can work!!

Gabe is learning new tricks everyday. He waves. A lot! He waves "hey" and "bye" and for "give me" that and for "come here" and for "night night" and probably for a myriad of other things that I am just not keen to - yet. His daycare teacher said he waves at everybody who comes in the room! He has finally started saying "mama". He said "dada" for so long that I thought I was never going to hear "mama" but he has finally complied. Not sure if he knows I am "mama" or not, but it's fun to believe that he does. He also says something that sounds a lot like "Bye bye". The jury's still out on that one but I"m sure he knows what he means!!

He is working on drinking out of a sippy cup. More so at school than at home but he is working on it nonetheless. He does "ok" with it. It's not his drink route of choice though. He still prefers the bottle. He is also eating lots of neat new things. If he can pick it up, he will eat it (this is not always a good thing). He is gagging a lot less which helps! Some of the new tastes he has had in the last several days include:
a cheetoo (I know, not the most nutritious)
mac and cheese
cheese toast
chicken strips
casadilla
a little snip of birthday cake icing (yummy!)
cheese grits
waffle
The list goes on and on...

In just a month and half we will celebrate Gabe's first birthday! What a bittersweet time that will be! In the meantime, we are just pluggin along, learning and growing. Life is good...

Livin on Tybee Time

Last week we packed up and treked to Tybee Island, GA. We took Grammy and Pop with us and met Nana and Pa Jerry and Aunt Mary and Uncle Jason and Jamie and JB there. Baby Gabe LOVED his first trip to the beach! He loved the sand, the water, all of it. We would hold him in the ocean facing the waves coming in and he would just squeal with delight over and over as they crashed into him! He also really loved the shower that you used to get the sand off after you walked off the beach. It came out in kind of a strong stream and I would hold him in front of it so that it was hitting his tummy and he would squeal and giggle and try to grab the water stream. He loved it and had everyone that walked by laughing and saying how cute he was (I know that; thank you!)!! Oh and he really loved the sand! It made such a great snack...

He was such a good boy too. He would just go with the flow, where ever we drug him! He never complained about any of it! Here are some pictures of all of the fun we had!

Gabe's also been pretty busy learning how to crawl and pull up. He's got both skills down pretty well! Here he is trying to crawl away as I was taking his picture!

Gabe is in his new class at "school" now. He loves it in there! His new teacher is so sweet and she loves him a lot; but I know he misses his teacher from the last class. She does come in and visit him some though so that is good. He is learning to eat different foods in the there like cheese toast and bananas. He's growing up way too fast for me, that's for sure!! He has been having a good time in class but I do think he misses being with his family all day like he was last week at the beach. I'm sure he misses watching his cousins Jamie and JB and all of their antics!! He is getting his second top tooth in so that makes a total of FOUR!! He doesn't looks so snaggle-tooth anymore!!
